Br. Paul Smith enters Holy Cross Abbey as a Posulant
We are pleased to have Br. Paul as a member of our community here at Holy Cross Abbey. On Tuesday evening, July 2nd (after completing two weeks in quarantine), Br. Paul Smith was welcomed into the monastic community at Holy Cross Abbey during a brief induction ceremony after Vespers. This initiated his one-year postulancy which will be followed by a two-year novitiate. Br. Paul is from the great city of Philadelphia where he was born and raised and was baptized in the Church of St. Benedict. Br. Paul is a graduate of the Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH and he holds a degree in Theology. He then directed his attention to serving the sick and studied nursing at Lawrence Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a Psychiatric Registered Nurse. He joins Br. Tom in the postulancy program and his entrance brings our community up to twelve members. We thanking God for calling Br. Paul, and pray with us for his perseverance on this narrow road that leads to Life!
