Guadalupe Abbey: On the 18th of December, 2020 we had the liturgy and burial of our dear Br Alberic Gerard. He was 98 years of age when he passed away on Dec 13th. He was in monastic life for 70 years when the Lord called him home. Born in 1922 in New York City, he was the last of our founders who originally entered our motherhouse of St. Joseph’s Abbey when it was still located in Rhode Island, then came with the first group of monks sent on the new foundation to Our Lady of Guadalupe Abbey in Pecos, New Mexico in 1951, and subsequently moved to our present site in Oregon.
